New Tech can be considered nothing less than an education revolution. With new ways of learning and teaching, this innovative school design is transforming education across the country and throughout Indiana. Abandoning the idea of “traditional schooling,” New Tech provides students with unique opportunities to gain the knowledge and skills to survive and succeed in the 21st-century global economy.
When visiting a New Tech, all preconceived notions of schooling must be checked at the door. You won’t see several individual classrooms with rows of desks and students working quietly on one academic subject at a time. At a New Tech, you will see students working in groups, deeply engaged in projects that encompass multiple areas of learning. Large open spaces provide a dynamic environment for collaborative education. Classroom teachers act as leaders and guides who interact with their students for academic exploration, while ultimately helping students become directors of their own learning.
